07/12/2006 - Minneapolis, MN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Minnesota Twins plan to recall pitcher Scott Baker from Triple-A Rochester prior to the team's game against the Cleveland Indians on Thursday.
Baker struggled in nine starts this season with the Twins, going 2-5 with a 6.06 earned run average. After he was optioned to Rochester on June 1, the 24- year-old Baker went 3-2 with a 2.92 earned run average in seven starts with the Red Wings.
Baker will take Ruben Sierra's spot on the 25-man roster. Sierra was waived by the Twins on Monday after hitting just .179 with four RBI in 14 games. He also missed nearly two months with a ruptured left biceps tendon.
