10/01/2008 - Stuttgart, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chinese Na Li stunned U.S. Open champion Serena Williams in a second-round match Wednesday at the $650,000 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Williams, who became the top-ranked player in the world last month, will lose her No. 1 ranking to Serbian Jelena Jankovic on Monday.

Li dropped the first set in bagel fashion against the top-seeded Williams before charging back for an unlikely 0-6, 6-1, 6-4 decision on the indoor hardcourts at Porsche Arena. Williams received a bye into the second round this week.

Another second-round upset saw Belarusian Victoria Azarenka upend eighth- seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 7-5.

Fourth-seeded Olympic gold medalist Elena Dementieva of Russia avoided a second-round upset by besting Austrian Sybille Bammer 6-1, 6-4. Dementieva will face Azarenka in Friday's quarterfinals.

The first round concluded here on Wednesday, as hot Swiss Patty Schnyder toppled fifth-seeded Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 and seventh- seeded Russian Vera Zvonareva zipped past Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova 6-3, 6-2. Schnyder has won her last five matches, including a title in Bali last month. Kuznetsova headed to Stuttgart having reached back-to-back finals in Tokyo and Beijing.

The second round will wrap up here on Thursday, including matches for the second-seeded U.S. Open runner-up Jankovic, third-seeded French Open and Olympic runner-up Dinara Safina of Russia and sixth-seeded Wimbledon champion Venus Williams. Jankovic will take on Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko, while the Beijing Olympic silver medalist Safina, who titled in a WTA Tour event in Beijing two weeks ago, will face Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova and Venus will battle Ukrainian Kateryna Bondarenko.

The 2008 Stuttgart titlist will take home $100,000.

MySportsbook.com week 1 NFL lines

Now that the 2008 NFL schedule is finally out, it is only matter-of-course for lines on “Week 1” to follow.  Of course MySportsbook.com is the first to churn out odds for the NFL’s inaugural week for the upcoming season.   Expect a lot of fireworks the first Thursday night of the season as the defending champion Indianapolis Colts face off against the surprise of the 2008 season, the New Orleans Saints.  These teams were ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL respectively a season ago so a high scoring affair could be in order.  As of now, the Colts will be giving 6 points to the Saints; keep in mind the Saints were one of the better road teams last season going 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.  The first Monday night of the season will again provide a “double feature”. Coming off a disappointing season, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to get back to playoffs and improve their public image as they take on the AFC North favorite Baltimore Ravens.  The second game features a couple of teams that haven’t had too much success recently but each could make some noise if the NFC is as weak as it was last year as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
