Herges, who has been was sidelined since mid-August due to lower back stiffness, is 3-4 with a 5.09 ERA in 51 games for the Rockies this season.

The Rockies also selected outfielder Dexter Fowler to the 40-man roster and recalled three players from Triple-A Colorado Springs - infielder Joe Koshansky, catcher Edwin Bellorin and right-handed pitcher Jason Hirsh.
